ABOUT AINA GUTIERREZ

I’m a former nonprofit Executive Director with more than 20 years of leadership experience in operations, HR, fundraising, and organizational growth. I know firsthand how challenging it is to balance mission and management, and now I help nonprofits navigate change through short-term, high-impact consulting projects and interim/fractional leadership.I focus on:*Organizational transitions — providing steady leadership through periods of change, including mergers, leadership transitions, organizational restructuring and program shifts.*Interim & fractional leadership — stepping into ED, COO, or CEO roles during times of change.*HR consulting — role restructuring, onboarding, and policies that support strong teams.*Fundraising strategies — building pipelines and diversifying revenue to sustain growth.As Executive Director of Rebuilding Exchange, I led transformative expansion by growing staff, budget, and impact more than fourfold in seven years. I’ve also held senior roles at Youth & Opportunity United and Interfaith Worker Justice, where I advanced equity-driven leadership, capacity building, and resource development.My approach is collaborative, transparent, and grounded in lived experience. Having served as an Executive Director, I understand the pressure leaders face to do it all with few resources. I bring a steady, pragmatic style to times of transition, focused on strategies and systems that are practical and sustainable.I’m especially drawn to community-based organizations working in environmental sustainability, workforce development, and systems change.
