About Adam Pishl

Raised in rural Idaho by good parents with renewable energy and multi-generational farming family roots, I intimately understand the importance of stewardship. Cultivating the land and developing people drives my actions. I am proud to be the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Clēnera, a utility-scale solar power and battery storage developer and independent power producer. My focus is leading innovative business operations, construction, and managing the renewable energy assets for Clēnera, and developing bench strength in our organization with the industry’s most talented executive leaders. With these exceptional leaders we are building Clēnera into a legacy company that will outlast its 40-year assets. My new venture experience began before college and continued between 1993 and 2006 where I launched several entrepreneurial ventures in construction, technology and manufacturing. In 2007 I chose renewable energy as my future. Finding an opportunity to make a positive impact in the world matched with good economic drivers and was the opportunity that aligned perfectly with my core values.In 2007, my long-time friend Jason Ellsworth and I set out to change the solar industry and built out a unique CPV glass technology. That’s when the glass manufacturing division of Sol Focus, SolFocus Glass Works, was born. Next, in 2010 we built Sunlight Partners, into one of the most successful distributed generation developers in North America. Then in 2013 we started Clēnera and have since built 27 projects and over 2 GW of projects throughout the US.
