Development, administration, marketing and execution of the total aquatics program that operates within the standards of the National YMCA Aquatic Programs. Supervision of Aquatic Site Managers for satellite locations.Create a comprehensive program schedule, which reflects the needs of the membership, the community and furthers the YMCA’s goals.Develop and administer approved budgets and take appropriate action to maintain the fiscal integrity of the department.Work with site managers to recruit, interview, select, schedule and supervise all staff related to the aquatic department in accordance with established personnel policies and procedures.Provide ongoing training and development of aquatic class and team personnel.Responsible for working with Site Directors and Facilities Directors to oversee all issues relating to the physical facilities of the swimming pool, as well as the care and maintenance of the related equipment.Assure that safety standards related to the aquatic programs as prescribed by the National YMCA, Board of Health and YMCA management are followed. Develop safety manuals, instructor worksheets, and emergency procedures for the aquatic program. Ensure the above is completed by Aquatic Site Managers for their area of responsibility.Maintain concise records essential for control, evaluation and reporting to committees, Board and CEO. Prepare monthly and annual reports on the activities of related department programs.Work with the team of directors in planning and scheduling of program facilities toward the smooth functioning of daily operations.Establish a working relationship with community agencies, businesses, schools, etc.Administrations of purposeful and coordinated programs, good public relations, sound financial and record system, and good property management.Development and maintenance of good staff relations and increasing effective laity resulting in a smooth collaborative team of lay people and staff.
