I am a people-orientated leader with a proven ability to manage teams to deliver results. Throughout my Business Development career, I have worked in world-class engineering consultancies, helping them secure opportunities worth up to I have experience bidding for strategic pursuits across various public sector markets, including rail, highways, aviation, water, energy, and nuclear.Currently, I lead the Business Development team for Arup\'s Advisory portfolio across the UKIMEA region (UK, India, Middle East & Africa). Here, I collaborate with some of the most impressive specialists and creative minds in our business, helping them structure and develop their ideas into customer-focused proposals that are clear and compelling.My interests lie in capture planning - try to convince me that a bid isn\'t won before the RFP has landed! I\'m passionate about developing strong, well informed win strategies that help us develop the best possible solution for our Clients. I\'m also a sucker for efficiency. I get frustrated by tasks that aren\'t adding value and am constantly looking for ways to improve how our team operates.From 2018 to 2022, I took a career break to pursue my interests and travel. I ended up in Whistler, Canada where I enjoyed unrestricted access to ski slopes and downhill bike parks. Whilst I was there I enjoyed working in leadership roles in the retail industry. This taught me a lot about how to effectively manage teams and drive results in dynamic environments. Lululemon provided me with 2 weeks of dedicated leadership training which set me up well for my current role, which involves leading a team of proposal coordinators to resource a full pipeline of \'Priority Pursuits\'. I also hold a master\'s degree in Environmental Science and worked as an Environmental Consultant for three years. I specialised in contaminated land and spent a lot of time working on site in gas works and electricity substations. My approach to bidding is informed by my time in this role. I fully appreciate the demands on technical teams who are under pressure to deliver high quality work whilst looking forward to win rewarding work. It\'s important to understand the reality of their workload as we work together to develop winning proposals.Specialities: capture planning, effective communication, time management, collaboration, training and presenting, meeting facilitation, proposal writing and editing, document design (Microsoft Office and InDesign).
