ABOUT ZACK KANE

With over two decades of progressive experience in industrial demolition, manufacturing, and trades-related health and safety across Canada, I bring a practical and adaptable approach to safety leadership and culture transformation.Starting in the trades and bartending in Ontario, I developed strong communication and relationship-building skills that continue to shape my leadership approach. My career advanced in Edmonton’s industrial demolition sector, where I spent eight years—three as a Site Superintendent—gaining hands-on expertise in job safety analyses, incident investigations, and employee coaching.Certified as a National Construction Safety Officer, I furthered my education with a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of New Brunswick and a Diploma in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management. I am currently pursuing the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation to expand my professional capability. In 2016, family priorities brought me back to Southern Ontario, where I joined Maple Leaf Foods Prepared Meats as Health and Safety Supervisor, later advancing to HSSE Manager at Maple Leaf Poultry. These roles strengthened my leadership in safety systems, WSIB management, and program development that aligned food safety with worker well-being.From 2018 to 2020, I worked with Lowe’s Canada as a Health and Safety Specialist for Distribution, where I enhanced safety culture and helped modernize incident reporting through digital systems. I then returned to the trades with Reliance Home Comfort, balancing family life with my focus on proactive, front-line safety engagement.Since 2021, I have worked in the clean energy sector, first with Spark Power and now with e-Zinc, where I am building a comprehensive safety management system from the ground up. My approach integrates data-driven insights, culture change strategies, and field experience to drive safety excellence and operational integrity. My mission is to ensure every employee works in an environment where safety is a shared value, supported by open communication, trust, and continuous improvement.
