Sustainable Development of Fisheries and Aquaculture Value Chains in ACP Countries (FISH4ACP): The Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), the EU, German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and FAO have partnered for a EUR 48 million, five-year programme to boost the development of sustainable fisheries and aquaculture in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to poverty reduction, jobs creation, and food and nutrition security by improving the economic, social and environmental sustainability of fisheries and aquaculture value chains in ACP countries. Operations began in early 2020 with value chain assessments allowing FISH4ACP to tailor activities to the priority needs of the value chain and help identify new markets, reduce losses and waste, improve working conditions and manage stocks and aquatic natural resources in a sustainable manner.
