ABOUT ZACHARY PROCH

Zachary T. Proch is a United States Patent and Trademark Office-registered patent attorney with experience in all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution across a range of technologies, including chemical, polymer, mechanical, and medical arts. He combines technical expertise in engineering, mathematics, and physics with experience navigating complex patent matters to advise domestic and international clients on patent procurement, prosecution, and portfolio management.Zachary works with technologies spanning chemicals, chemical processing equipment and processes, polymer materials, mechanical systems, and medical devices. His scientific background enables him to understand intricate technical concepts and collaborate with inventors and companies to develop patent applications that protect their innovations. He routinely conducts patentability and patent clearance searches, prepares infringement and noninfringement opinions, and advises on patent portfolio strategy in both domestic and international markets.Zachary graduated from the University of Akron’s College of Engineering and Polymer Science with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Certificate in Polymer Engineering before earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law, where he also earned a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law. During law school, he served as President of the Intellectual Property and Technology Association, reflecting his early leadership in the field.Prior to joining Ward Law Office, Zachary worked at a boutique intellectual property firm, where he drafted and prosecuted patent and trademark applications and assisted in complex intellectual property litigation.
