ABOUT YVONNE MAIDMENT

I am the Practice Director for Gowling WLG’s Real Estate & Banking Department, leading the business, financial and operational management of several practices across these areas.With more than 20 years of experience in operational and business management, I bring a collaborative approach and with a focus on continuous improvement. Prior to my current role, I served as General Manager of Gowling WLG’s Hamilton office, overseeing all non-legal operations, including human resources, finance, office services and facilities. I previously built an extensive career at McMaster University, where I held progressively senior roles, including Human Resources Manager, Business Manager and Director of Administration.I hold an Honours Bachelor of Commerce, a diploma in Human Resources Management and a master’s degree in Globalization. A strong advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion, I have completed employment equity, Indigenous cultural safety, and anti-racism training. Additionally, I have contributed to working groups and committees focused on advancing the representation, recruitment and retention of diverse workforces.
