I lead Checkout’s global benefits strategy, governance, and operations across multiple regions, driving strategic alignment with our EVP, employee wellbeing, and business priorities. I own the end-to-end employee benefits lifecycle — from design and optimisation to budgeting, vendor management, and data-driven decision-making — for 150+ benefits across 20+ countries.I transformed how benefits are managed by introducing a scalable operating framework, increasing visibility of spend, and enhancing governance through clear documentation, forecasting, and ROI analysis. This enabled streamlined decision-making, reduced inefficiencies, and ensured benefits remain competitive, compliant, and aligned to employee needs.Partnering with HRBPs, Workplace Experience and cross-functional stakeholders, I’ve driven engagement initiatives that boosted global uptake and satisfaction — including up to 4x increases in participation and meaningful NPS improvements. I balance strategic leadership with strong execution, influencing at senior levels and delivering programmes that elevate the employee experience while managing commercial outcomes.

Hi, I\'m Yoana. I\'m a Global HR Benefits and Wellbeing Manager by day and Pro Bono Career Coach by night.My corporate mission is to help companies design their benefits strategy to make a difference to their employee wellbeing rather than simply comply with local requirements and be cost-effective (of course achieve that too!). As a Senior HR Generalist, I saw first-hand how employees experienced burnout or life events impacting their physical, mental, financial and family wellbeing. On the other hand, employees and managers were unaware of the great benefits available to them to enhance their wellbeing and cope with challenges. I am striving to bridge that gap by actively listening to employees, managers and executives and using data to focus my effort where it would have the highest impact.In my current role as Global Head of Benefits at Checkout, I am responsible for benefits strategy and optimisation, roll out of new offerings, budgeting and day to day management of 150+ benefits across 50 providers in 23 countries in EMEA, APAC and the Americas. In my previous role as EMEA Benefits and Wellbeing Manager at HSBC Innovation Banking (formerly SVB UK), the initiatives I implemented (including gaps reviews, focus groups, benefits & wellbeing newsletter, panel talks, webinars) resulted in enhanced offerings, cost savings, higher benefits programs uptake and a positive impact on retention and staff satisfaction.My personal mission is to pay it forward. Throughout my career in HR, I’ve been in the driver’s seat of my career growth. Networking strategically, self-advocating with key decision-makers, and leading high-visibility projects helped me land 3 promotions in 4 years. I’m currently completing a Coaching Apprenticeship and offer pro bono career coaching.
