ABOUT YASER FARAG
I\'m currently a Research Associate at the Maritime Human Factors Centre (MHFC) at the University of Strathclyde, the first of its kind globally to specialize in maritime Human Factors. I\'m also in the third year of my PhD in Naval Architecture, Ocean & Marine Engineering (NAOME). My current research focus is on integrating Human Factors into maritime systems, a direction influenced by my two-year involvement in the EU\'s SAFEMODE project. Before joining Strathclyde, I spent a decade as a Marine Engineer and seven years as a Lecturer at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT). These roles provided me with a robust foundation in both the practical and educational aspects of the maritime industry. I hold an MSc in Maritime Energy Management from the World Maritime University (WMU), where I graduated with distinction and received the Chancellor\'s Medal for Academic Excellence. I\'ve also held a Marine Chief Engineer certificate since 2013. Most recently, I\'ve joined the EU-funded GATERS project, which aims to deliver innovative energy efficiency solutions. Prior to this, I was an active contributor to the IAMU\'s Global Maritime Professional Body of Knowledge (GMP BoK) initiative.
