ABOUT XAVIER REZGUI
I am part of the first generation of gamers, starting with my VideoPac console in 1981 at the age of six. I have never stopped playing since and have made gaming my professional pursuit. Having lived in 15 countries across 4 continents, I feel at home in many places around the globe. From over 2 decades in the video game industry, I can confidently say that gaming is one of the few activities that unites people worldwide. Unlike movies, music, or books, which are often influenced by regional and linguistic factors, gaming transcends these boundaries. With the advent of the internet and online games, I am amazed to see players from South Korea, China, the United States, France, Russia, and Saudi Arabia playing the exact same games together daily. While playing, they speak the same language, use the same codes, and share a universal connection.Today, anyone with a mobile phone is a potential gamer. When you add consoles and gaming PCs to the mix, video games have undeniably become the leading cultural activity on the planet. With $200 billion in revenue, gaming is now a serious industry, always at the forefront of technological innovation and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. This fast-paced evolution is one of the things I’ve always loved about this industry.
