Serve as a staff geologist/hydrogeologist in the Region 2 Superfund program (which encompasses New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and the 8 federally recognized Indian Nations within New York) on a wide variety of issues including geology, hydrogeology, contaminant transport and behavior, sampling techniques, and remedial technologies- Plan and advise field activities, including sampling in all media, well drilling, surface and downhole geophysics, aquifer testing, soil gas surveys, excavation, in-situ remediation, and construction of various clean-up actions- Serve in a technical role in non-enforcement negotiations with stakeholders to ensure representatives understand the mission- Perform site inspections to ensure remediation efforts are operational- Perform document reviews in order to identify data gaps, verify implementation of remedial designs, and evaluate potential remedial actions
