ABOUT WILLIAM H. HOTALING
As an undergraduate researcher at Tulane Center for Polymer Reaction Monitoring and Characterization, I am currently working under Dr. Wayne Reed and Dr. Curt Jarand on the spectroscopic monitoring of biomacromolecules in membrane-mediated processes. This project allows me to apply my growing knowledge of physics, chemistry, and biology to real-world problems and contribute to the advancement of scientific research. In addition to my research, I also serve as a supplemental instructor for PHYS1310 (General Physics I) and PHYS1320 (General Physics II) at Tulane University. I lead two additional lectures weekly, review essential concepts, and apply them to practice materials. I also hold office hours to help students with more specific and personal questions. This role not only enhances my teaching skills but also allows me to connect with students and facilitate their learning. Furthermore, I have experience as a waterfront counselor at Gold Arrow Camp, where I connected with children aged 6-15, helped them with character development, and coached them with water sports. This experience has taught me the importance of teamwork, communication, and leadership.
