By shifting the burden of inventory risk while securing favorable pricing and service-level agreements, I directly impact the firm’s commercial resilience. Beyond day-to-day sourcing, I am responsible for reviewing and negotiating complex contracts, ensuring all terms align with our commercial objectives and mitigate corporate liability. Through aggressive price negotiation and strategic planning, I ensure the business remains competitive in a fast-paced manufacturing sector.

I’m looking to pursue a career in commercial litigation, the Civil Service, or politics as an MP — fields where sharp analytical thinking, commercial awareness, and the ability to navigate complex situations genuinely matters.I’m currently a First-Class Politics and International Relations student at the University of Bath, having achieved A* Politics, A Law and A History at A-Level. Between my second and final year, I made the independent decision to enter the workforce full-time rather than follow a traditional placement. Starting on the factory floor as a Spray Lead Technical Operator, I was promoted into my current role as Procurement Assistant at Contract Candles & Diffusers Ltd. Here I hold accountability for managing 100+ suppliers — including the business’s most critical relationships across fragrance, glass, shippers, cartons and all consumables — constantly renegotiating prices, sourcing cost-effective products and balancing cost with quality. In my day-to-day I rely on Microsoft Business Central, Power BI, Wrike, and AI-driven tools to manage supplier relationships, track procurement activity, and make data-informed decisions across every area of my role. I also work closely with the finance team on budgeting and cost analysis, and most notably successfully transitioned our consumables supply into a VMI model, saving the company £17,500 and significantly improving operational efficiency. This has given me a grounded, real-world understanding of supply chain risk and the commercial pressures that drive business decisions.Alongside this, I’ve spent over four years in elected voluntary leadership roles — as a Committee member at the Royal British Legion and Board Member of the Midhurst and District Snooker League — gaining hands-on experience in governance, statutory compliance, and stakeholder management. During this time I also founded a 24-hour marathon fundraiser that raised £4,127 for the Royal British Legion in 2022, and we continue to hold the 24-hour marathon every year. As I prepare to return to Bath for my final year, I’m looking to connect with legal, political, and civil service professionals who value candidates with both academic rigour and genuine commercial experience.
