ABOUT WILLEM MAAS

Willem is currently working as Principal Process Engineer at Aggreko. He has previously worked as Principal Engineer at Technip and before that as the New Technologies Supervisor for Genesis Group in Houston and as the Lead Flow Assurance Engineer GOM for Genesis. Willem has experience in Topsides and Subsea Engineering, specializing in all aspects of thermal hydraulic simulation plus related design issues such as wax, hydrates, asphaltenes, inorganic scale, corrosion, sand production, chemical injection and subsurface/ facilities interface. Willem has worked on a number of oil and gas projects covering the flow assurance activities for SURF (Subsea Umbilical Risers and Flowlines) and pipeline systems, including regions of deep and ultra deep water as well as gathering systems and transmission pipelines. He has acted as the installation support expert during a GOM pipe-lay for a Technip vessel as well pre-intervention advisor for wax remediation operation offshore West Africa. Specialties: • Flow assurance and operability including the thermal hydraulic analysis of single and multiphase systems, the prediction, prevention and the development of successful operating strategies. • Equipment design and sizing • Steady state simulations of pipelines • Dynamic simulation of oil, gas and water systems (including LNG) • Strong background in Reservoir Engineering, subsurface and subsea intervention plus remediation • Excellent knowledge of Subsea Engineering • Experienced in HAZID, HAZOP, design reviews • Conceptual, FEED and Detail Design • EPCI and SURF contracts
