I am an Octarian, a lover of steam trains and BMW motorbikes.But initially I started out selling welding equipment in the 1950s for top British companies when we sold only the very best products. After starting my first company and selling out, I ventured into a totally niche market of second-hand welding and cutting equipment.A true salesman back in the day, I stepped away from that role to one of Buyer for Westermans International, our family owned and run company. I now travel the world buying used welding and fabrication machinery. A huge task to replenish the machines supply daily.Through the business I have become a bit of a celebrity later on in life! The BBC News featured me last year and I did a Desert Island Disc slot on BBC Radio Leicester as well as writing article for the local and national papers.
