PCs for People is a national non-profit organization offering refurbished computers, computer recycling, and internet solutions to the less fortunate. In this role, I am responsible for developing and executing a government and community relations agenda for the organization, to include leading organizational and community engagement efforts, mobilizing stakeholders to advance access to devices and services, and cultivating partnerships. Other duties:• Manage the planning and execution of public events to distribute computers across the region to low-income residents to achieve the mission of closing the Digital Divide.• Collaborate with stakeholders, staff and senior leadership to develop a government and community relations strategy to raise awareness of programs and services.• Engage with donors regarding the receipt of grant money and decommissioned tech devices, which are then refurbished and distributed to needy families.• Cultivate and grow strategic community, government and nonprofit partnerships by ensuring consistent, collaborative and inclusive outreach through proactive engagement initiatives.• Maintain client databases and develop effective sales strategies to identify and secure potential donors of computers from various regional industries, such as academia, business, and local, state, and federal governments.
