ABOUT VILMA MEDRANO

I’m a dog mom, gardener, composter, baker, cook, fitness lover, spouse, friend, and lifelong learner. At my core, I’m a teacher, and a science lover who believes data should inform decisions — whether I’m optimizing a sourdough recipe, refining my garden soil, or troubleshooting a distributed system.I began my career as a molecular biologist, working in diagnostic test development and manufacturing quality assurance. I loved the rigor — forming hypotheses, validating results, documenting processes, and ensuring quality at scale. But I realized what energized me most was solving complex problems and helping others understand them. That curiosity led me to complete the Hackbright Academy fellowship in full-stack software engineering and transition into technology, where I joined Datadog.At Datadog, I found my passion: helping customers manage and understand their technology. I thrive in deep technical troubleshooting — digging into logs, APIs, containers, and edge cases — and translating complexity into clarity for audiences ranging from engineers to executives. I love becoming the product expert, the calm partner during incidents, and the advocate who ensures customers feel heard, empowered, and successful.I’m seeking an individual contributor role in technical support within a technology organization.
