As a Senior Software Engineer in the MDM Microservices team, I manage data pipelines and infrastructure across OpenSearch, AWS, and Databricks. My role involves designing, optimizing, and maintaining large-scale data flows and microservices supporting CDK’s CRM platform.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain MDM microservices for data ingestion and synchronization using Kafka and Logstash.Manage OpenSearch clusters — including index template creation, node scaling (horizontal/vertical), software upgrades, and performance optimization.Monitor cluster health (CPU, memory, node utilization) and coordinate with the Infra team for scaling and maintenance.Implement data lifecycle management by deleting obsolete documents and migrating unused indexes to warm nodes.Use Python utilities on VMs/EC2 for automation, data extraction, and OpenSearch statistics collection.Build and manage Aurora PostgreSQL schemas using Liquibase, including tables, functions, triggers, and indexes for audit and performance.Optimize long-running queries via Python scripts and database tuning.Design and operate OpenSearch ingestion pipelines (OSIS) for exporting large datasets from OpenSearch to S3.Use Databricks notebooks for data transformation and payload conversion for external vendor integrations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant data operations.Tech Stack: OpenSearch, AWS (Aurora, EC2, S3), Databricks, Python, Liquibase, Kafka, Logstash, SQL, PySpark, ElasticSearch
