ABOUT VICTORIA K. SCHULMAN
As a former biomedical researcher turned full-time science educator, I bring a unique perspective to typical high school science instruction. I consistently challenge my Honors and Advanced Seminar students at the college-preparatory King School in Stamford, CT to synthesize detailed lessons into broader applications that will advance science and technology. With this larger goal, I encourage students to seek out independent research opportunities and mentor them through the process of conducting cutting-edge research, writing manuscripts for publication, compiling applications for prestigious science competitions, and presenting their work in both poster and oral formats at local, state, regional, national, and international venues to earn recognition for their incredible work.My former postdoctoral research at Yale University focused on understanding the genetic influences of disease states to create personalized therapeutic treatment plans for affected individuals based on their unique genetic make-ups. Aside from my teaching career and research interests, my goal is to improve scientific communication. Far too often, bright and intelligent researchers struggle to convey the impact of their work to others. With the belief that brilliant science deserves to be funded and published despite language barriers and differences in writing styles, I created the Amino Group, LLC, a scientific editing and writing company that helps researchers around the globe improve the logical flow, clarity, and English grammar of their manuscripts, grant applications, and other science-based documents to help them achieve professional
