Victor Magar, PhD, PE, is a highly accomplished Principal Civil/Environmental Engineer with 30 years of expertise in sediment risk management, contaminant fate and transport, and technology evaluation, testing, and selection. As the Practice Leader for Ramboll\'s Sediment Engineering Practice, he has successfully managed client services in contaminant assessment, remedy assessment, design, implementation, and monitoring.Dr. Magar\'s technical expertise encompasses site characterization, site remediation, and the fate and transport of bioaccumulative organic pollutants and metals. He has led numerous field treatability studies, using reactive amendments, capping, dredging, and monitored natural recovery. Notably, he has pioneered efforts in sediment beneficial use and habitat restoration, as well as in situ sediment stabilization.Complementing his focus on contaminated sediments, Dr. Magar has significantly contributed to coastal resiliency projects by leveraging Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) and Engineering with Nature® (EWN). His innovative approach enhances resiliency while promoting habitat uplift.Dr. Magar is nationally and internationally recognized as a subject matter expert in sediment remediation. He has extensive litigation experience in contaminant fate and transport, remedy decisions, and cost allocation, having contributed to site characterization, remedy evaluation, and performance assessments at over 20 sites globally.
