STUDY MANAGEMENT & MECHANICAL EXECUTION- Accountable to ensure that all projects are brought in on time, on budget, and at the highest value for the client and their shareholders- Acted as Field Project Manager for the Kirkland Lake Gold (KLG) Tailings Thickener Project (TTP) responsible for ensuring schedule for the KLG TTP was kept on track and worked with general contractors on construction methodologies and mitigation plans to ensure major risks were identified early including the expediting of vendors, consultants and other contractors- Led the Commissioning activities for the KLG TTP and ensured all equipment vendor representatives were scheduled at the exact period required for their services. Ensured training of KLG personnel was part of the plan so that handover at the end of the project would have minimal issues- Senior Project Engineer with strong leadership abilities with a background in mechanical engineering- Proficient in project planning, efficient design, and optimized engineering & construction solutions within an organized, collaborative work environment- Managed the $9.7 million USD Gatsuurt FEL-3 Optimization Study and NI 43-101 development at Centerra Gold Inc- Responsible for the development of the Capital and Operating cost estimates as well as the financial model for the Gatsuurt FEL-3 Optimization Study- Accountable for the engineering, construction and commissioning of a new rotary dryer and the #2 bucket elevator at the VALE Nickel Refinery in Sudbury working within the Project Management Office, both of which were completed below budget and ahead of schedule.LEADERSHIP & TEAMWORK- Liaises with professional colleagues and clients in all roles to move projects forward through the decision making and formal stage-gating processes- Cultivates strong vendor relations- Created detailed daily reports for the KLG Tailings Thickener Project to ensure accurate progress tracking- Assisted other members within the VALE Project Management Office with all areas of operations to complete tasks within limited timeframe to ensure the overall success of the team.PROJECT OPTIMIZATIONS- Reduced the CAPEX of the Gatsuurt Project by over $88 million USD (approximately 22%) while also incorporating scope for a more robust design of new process facilities- Designed and implemented significant improvements to the #2 Bucket Elevator at the VALE Nickel Refinery which would improve operations accessibility and reduce downtime for maintenance.
