I\'ve jumped off 60-foot-high Croatian cliffs into the Adriatic Sea, saved orphaned children from rabid monkeys in Angkor Wat, seen five of the Seven Wonders of the World, lived in a cave in Northern China, 7 hours by rickety van from the nearest point of “civilization” in -30°F climates; jumped out of a plane, held a rattlesnake, spent two weeks on my own backcountry hiking in Death Valley—in July; driven a motorcycle from Hanoi to Saigon, made camel leather in Rajasthan, had a beer with Iveta Radicová in Bratislava, eaten a banana in the Amazon, photographed bears in the Sierra, survived poisonous bites, deadly hurricanes, and magnitude-8 earthquakes. I thrive at the limits, which is the approach that I take to all the work that I do.
