Well acquainted with the working systems, operating instructions, maintenance schedules of machines under charge.• Obtain necessary job permits and ensure compliance to site and personnel safety requirements. Coordinate with third party inspection agencies to carryout necessary job inspection. • Investigate major failure of the machine critically for corrective actions/remedial measures and for fixing responsibilities in case of failures. Rectify breakdowns using electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings as the case may be.• Maintain proper documentation / drawing records.• Maintain the log records pertaining to the machines under charge and submit the prescribed returns regularly.• Coordinate with other departments like PWay, TRD, S&T and Operating for safe efficient working on site.• Periodically verify the physical condition and quantities of stocks and arrange to submit periodical returns/requisitions of tools & spares, consumables. Review of vendor’s supplies, its specifications, quality and usability. Keep proper records of issue, receipt & reconciliation of the material, labour/material entry/exit, gate passes and vehicle movements.• Ensure compliance to codes, engineering standards and good engineering practices.• Coordinate and implement safety audit items.• Roster Maintenance of staffs and subordinates.• Impart training to new recruits.
