Communications officer for the Tula Institute, whose initiatives include the Hakai Institute\'s long-term research into various areas related to climate change and temperature rise—including glacial mass loss, carbon storage, ocean acidification, and marine ecology. In collaboration with our media team I strategize and oversee an array of outputs including media releases, a newsletter, a quarterly magazine, social media, op-eds, reports and long-form multimedia. We make the complex simple, make science snappy, and amplify the voices of community members, researchers, and Indigenous partners. Recent honours include the 2024 National Association of Science Writers Excellence in Institutional Writing Award for producing, coauthoring and editing \"Going Deep: The Perils and Promise of Long Science.\" Led our team to win the same award in 2023, for \"The Demon River,\" written by JB MacKinnon.
