I have overseen emergency and social services in complex US and international contexts with pragmatic and high quality solutions, impacting thousands of people and meeting organizational goals annually. Progressing from US Regional Director, I am currently the Vice President of Program Delivery with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), one of the largest humanitarian organizations in the world, reaching 34.5 million people globally, and the agency which resettles close to 15% percent of the refugees in the US in a particularly dynamic and challenging environment. In this role, I oversee the work of over staff delivering more than of programs in 29 US offices, 6 European and 3 Asian countries in support of refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable groups. I oversee services to hundreds of thousands of people in protection, economic empowerment, education, health programs, including in legal services, in humanitarian reception, and close to refugees resettled in the US by IRC.As Director of the American Red Cross International Response Operations, I oversaw emergency humanitarian responses to close to 200 disasters in 75 countries, including deploying teams, supplies, services, and funding, including over $500 million in humanitarian assistance distributed to roughly 5 million people. In my time at the Red Cross, I directly led operations and served people affected by the Nepal Earthquake (2015), Liberia Ebola Outbreak (2014), Philippines Typhoon Haiyan (2013), Hurricane Sandy (2012), Japan Earthquake and Tsunami (2011), Haiti Earthquake (2010), Indian Ocean Tsunami (2005), and 9/11 Recovery (2002). I have been an Adjunct Faculty and member of the Advisory Board at Georgetown University’s Emergency and Disaster Management program and a frequent contributor to industry panels, university guest lectures and national news media as a leader and practitioner humanitarian response and refugee issues in the global humanitarian network.I hold a Masters degree from Harvard University.
