Oversee the Americas credit function, including sites in the U.S. and Brazil, and supervise the Americas credit and collections personnel. • Ensure adherence to credit and collections policies implemented, updated appropriately, and drive credit and collections process improvements to decrease past due accounts and day sales outstanding (DSO). • Review customer-supplier letters of credit for content and ease of collectability and coordinate the issuance of Bid Bonds and Letters of Credit for sales-related projects. • Create and analyze month-end reconciliations, Hedge Funds, collections flux, and weekly cash forecasting. • Perform detailed credit investigations and recommend credit limits for new customers, interfacing with commercial and deal review teams to ensure credit reviews are completed and credit limits are established according to policies. • Supervise the annual review of customer credit limits and review and monitor accounts to ensure customer exposure does not exceed approved limits. • Identify and monitor problem accounts while providing regular updates to the executive management team. • Establish and report key credit and collections metrics, work cross-functionally with departments to resolve disputed invoices, and ensure credit, collection, and customer confidentiality laws and regulations remain in compliance. • Build and maintain long-term relationships with credit reporting and collections agencies, and financial institutions. Notable achievements while in the position included- Decreased day sales outstanding (DSO) from 68% to 37% since 2020- Developed key performance indicator (KPI) spreadsheets to monitor fluctuations and collectability of trade receivables- Built strong credit presence during Pandemic and maintained 35% average daily sales outstanding (DSO).
