Tony works with industry to develop new processes and tools in arc welding, wire-arc additive manufacturing, plasma waste treatment, other applications of plasmas and other metal additive manufacturing processes. He is currently working on the development of computational models of arc welding and additive manufacturing, plasma production of ammonia and plasma metal deposition.He has filled several leadership positions, including- 2015 to present: Leader, Materials and Process Modelling Team- 2014 to 2015: Leader, Plasma Processing and Deposition Team- 2011 to 2014: Leader, Plasma and High-Temperature Processing Research Group- 2004 to present: Project Leadership of several industrially- and internally-funded projectsTony\'s main R&D areas are arc plasmas (e.g, arc welding, waste treatment, lightning, transport properties), non-equilibrium plasmas (e.g, chemical production, sterilisation and disinfection) and metal additive manufacturing. He has expertise in the development of computational models, and experimental and theoretical research. He has worked with several multinational and Australian companies, including General Motors, Boeing, CRRC, Siemens, LSIS and SRL Plasma.
