In July 2018, LUFC brought the Foundation’s accounting function in-house; I led the integration into the club’s financial systems. This included coordinating with internal & external stakeholders, training staff, and managing the transition effectively. At this time I also took on line management of five team members and full responsibility for the Foundation’s Finance department, while continuing my core management accountant responsibilities within the main club.Key responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee the production, analysis, and review of management accounts, providing detailed variance analysis and reporting to SMT, including the CEO and Board. Budgeting & Forecasting: Conduct the annual budgeting process, prepare and present departmental forecasts, and regularly update forecasts to ensure alignment with business objectives. Financial Control & Reconciliation: Manage monthly reconciliations and balance sheet reviews, including transfer fee creditors & debtors, prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets. Strategic Decision Support: Collaborate with senior leaders to provide financial analysis and recommendations, influencing key decisions on pricing, partnership investments, and long-term strategic goals Audit Lead: Primary point of contact for external auditors. I am responsible for managing audit queries, delegating relevant queries, and ensuring smooth and efficient audit completions.Key Achievements: Fanatics Partnership: Lead the Fanatics retail partnership as the finance contact, ensuring accurate sales recs, and managing payment flows in line with commercial agreements. Strategic Supplier Engagement: Direct relations with adidas & internal partnership colleagues for BEX spend and seasonally relevant ordering. Matchday Reporting: Developed and presented a matchday KPI dashboard, tracking performance in areas such as ticketing, catering, hospitality, and retail, delivering actionable insights for the Board.
