Before I joined OrderWise I have never heard of the term ERP Solution, and didn\'t think stock control was going to become such a cornerstone in my career.Walking into a new business where there is an acronym for everything, along with the fact I hadn\'t worked in the software industry before was a huge new challenge. Add onto that I am expected to learn and demo this new solution to potential clients was daunting to say the least.Several years on I know my acronyms (well most of them) and can find my way round the software so I guess I have learnt something! However by far the best thing about my role is getting out to meet new people, see business operations working and help them understand OrderWise.

ABOUT TOM ROBSON
The question we all get asked when we are young is what do you want to be when you grow up? My answer was always I don’t know or play football for England… Once I left college still with the same answer to the above question. I felt it was a good opportunity to try something different and decided to take a year out in Spain. Leaving the UK with a one way ticket, a suitcase, limited funds and nowhere to stay beyond the first week was a loose plan to say the least. I would either come back at the end of the year or be calling mum for a flight back in 7 days if all failed.However, with a bit of courage and a few beers I was soon meeting new people and making new friends. This led to landing a job convincing people to choose my bar over all the others on the night club strip. I soon found place to call home, which was much better than the hostel I started out in. I enjoyed the next 9 months abroad, having the time of my life and living very best experiences before returning home. Looking back it was a huge risk which I am proud I had the courage to do, it has given me life long friends and helped me grow as a person.I guess this experience set me up for the roles that have since followed which all involve speaking to new people on a daily basis. Whether it be in technical support roles, working in supermarkets or helping people choose the correct ERP solution for their business. Every role involves getting to meet and know new people which I enjoy most.
