ABOUT TOM MANAGH

I have completed an Engineering Apprenticeship and Muller Dairy in a range of different environments including Process, Filling and Packaging Lines, Automation and Warehouse. Educated to HNC level (Distinction) as part of this apprenticeship and then went on to complete a HND in Electrical Engineering (Distinction). I then worked as a Shift Maintenance Engineer in the Filling/Packaging department for 10 months before moving to the Automation department to become and Automation Engineer, where I currently work. In 2021 I completed a Control and Automation Engineering degree and achieved a BEng in this disciplne with a grade of 2:1. As part of that role I gained the following experience: Project and Other Relevant Experience: Several PLC upgrades from S5 to S7, S7 to TIA Portal. Installation of SCADA systems using Wonderware applications. Installation of Conveyor systems using Siemens S7 control systems. Design, build and installation of PLC training facilities. Day to day experience fault-finding on Siemens PLC systems. Modifications to Servo Drive systems as part of machine improvements. I am competent on the following Automation products: Siemens S5, S7 and TIA Portal PLC’s. Wonderware products including InTouch/Industrial SQL/Active Factory. Siemens Servo Drives and associated software. Bosch Rexroth Servo Drives and associated software. Jokab Safety PLC’s and Systems. PILZ Safety PLC’s and Systems. ABB Robot Systems. Industrial networking with Profibus/AS-i/Ethernet/Profinet Various instruments and VSD drives. My current role is that of an Engineering Project Manager.
