ABOUT TOM HATFIELD

I am a seasoned CFO and scale-up leader with strengths across strategy, finance, and operational excellence. With over a decade of experience driving growth and transformation in PE and VC backed start-up / scale-up businesses, I have a track record of success across diverse sectors, including B2B SaaS, health tech, energy, and telecomms. I am now on my second stint with Ovo energy, a business I have huge passion for - serving as VP Finance & Transformation, helping to structure and coordinate a range of change projects. Previously CFO/COO at Oxehealth, I lead with a hands-on approach to scaling operations, fundraising, and fostering innovation. Whilst at Oxehealth I built not only a robust finance function, but also oversaw the build-out of our HR and Legal and Compliance functions, as well as stints serving as interim CTO and CEO. I delivered over £20m of fundraising over several funding rounds, including equity and debt, building a broad network of UK and international VC investors and bringing in several new shareholders. As HR leader I have also personally lead several rounds of restructuring in order to drive the business towards profitability. In an earlier stint at OVO Energy I saw its rapid growth from £100m to £2bn+ revenues, serving as Finance Director for its acquired insurance business Corgi Homeplan, and leading integration efforts for the SSE Retail merger. My earlier background also spans global M&A advisory at Ernst & Young and Deutsche Bank, as well as international strategy development at Cable & Wireless.A Chartered Accountant (ACMA/CGMA) with a 1st Class MEng in Aerospace Engineering, I bring analytical rigor and a deep commitment to strategic leadership. Whether raising capital, executing M&A transactions, or optimizing organizational design, I combine financial acumen with a collaborative mindset to unlock business potential.
