ABOUT KATE IBBOTSON

I enjoy exceeding the expectations of my peer groups. Oftentimes we are assigned limitations to our potential; instead of accepting that, I\'ve pushed myself time and time again to smash through this metaphorical ceiling and create spaces for myself where I feel I can make a real difference.Since moving to OVO I\'ve challenged myself and sought out opportunities outside of my BAU tasks which have led from being an AP clerk to a Finance Manager in under 5 years. During this time I have also achieved my ACCA qualification which every accountant will tell you is a juggling act on top of a full time role.Until recently I was responsible for leading, teaching and inspiring 4 professionals in treasury operations to deliver transactional processes and reconciliations to excellent quality. Whilst doing this I was also involved with the government rebate scheme (EBSS), the disposal of our telephone & broadband entity and being responsible for our Payroll accounting across the whole group.Moving forward I\'ll be stepping away from treasury operations and returning to my accounting roots where I\'ll be helping to lead the charge on transformation and change within the Finance function at OVO whilst still being involved with our monthly reporting when it comes to payroll and customer acquisition costs.I can\'t wait to see what comes next with this FM role and like always, I won\'t be shying away from challenges that come my way.
