ABOUT TINA LAURO POLLOCK

Steering Brain and Nerd as Director, my leadership fuses game design creativity with strategic production and business acumen, underpinned by a solid foundation in creative leadership and game analysis. I bring an MA in Games Design, thirteen years in the gaming industry, and almost two decades of people management to my role. Our studio\'s success with its first title, Predestination, has led to the development of promising new projects such as Hortalius and INCubator, both recognized with prestigious, highly competitive grants to fund their prototype development. As someone who experiences the intersectional space of being a disabled, LGBTQIA+ woman in games, I take a well-informed and empathetic approach to inclusive studio leadership and representative game design. I firmly place people above process and profit, while deftly managing 6-figure budgets across multiple simultaneous projects with several stakeholders at my studio. I have been recognised for my success in this area with an MCV Women in Games Businesswoman of the Year award (2020) and jointly received the Community Award from the NI Game Dev Awards in the same year. In parallel, my role as a part-time lecturer at Ulster University allows me to shape the next generation of game designers, emphasizing the importance of robust business planning and studio ethics. This twin focus on innovation in gaming and nurturing fresh talent underscores our team\'s commitment to driving the industry forward, one breakthrough at a time.
