ABOUT TIMOTHY LENNON
I working on a book about the creation of a social movement, the Survivors Movement. In the last twenty years this Movement has mobilized millions, changed laws in twenty states, and provides support for tens of thousands who have been harmed by sexual violence. I believe it approaches the influence and power of the Civil Rights or Women\'s Movement. I have a website designed for those harmed by sexual abuse, with resources, links, analysis, and commentary, see StandupSpeakup.org I work as a volunteer advocate and supporter of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests-SNAP for several decades. SNAP is an independent and confidential network of survivors supporting those wounded by religious and institutional authorities (priests, ministers, teachers, bishops, coaches, nuns, and others). We have a hundred local leaders in US/Canada and seven countries. We are allies to many similar organizations around the world. SNAP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and we are here to help. I am the former President of the Board of Directors, temporarily Executive Director, and Tucson co-local leader of SNAP. My work involves maintaining contact with other SNAP members, supporting survivors through personal contact, organizing the monthly support group, leading public events to raise public awareness, media interviews, and collaborating with allies and sister organizations.
