PLACE Long Beach is a community media lab and experimental print studio that democratizes access to journalism and creative publishing resources. Our collective-run, donation-based space features a zine library, analog filmmaking equipment, affordable printing services, mutual-aid art supplies, and a microcinema. As co-founder and administrative manager, I run the print shop and zine programming as well as fundraising and facilities projects, volunteer training, creative workshops, project consulting, and print solutions for local and national clients. Through monthly workshops, drop-in hours, and a free art supply closet, PLACE empowers journalists, storytellers, artists, and engaged community members to create and distribute independent media using both traditional and innovative publishing methods.
