I’m a Principal Partner Technical Specialist in IBM’s ecosystem organisation, working as an Ecosystem CTO for key Global Systems Integrators (GSIs).My focus is simple: help GSIs make more money with IBM in a hyperscaler-led world – by designing hybrid cloud, AI, and mainframe modernisation patterns that are commercially attractive to them and strategically relevant to IBM.Career 1.0 was as an IT and business leader. I got bored with spreadsheets and pure people management and moved into technology consulting. That evolved into career 2.0 as an enterprise architect and systems engineer, building first-of-a-kind solutions for large enterprises. Today, I use that systems mindset to sit at the intersection of IBM, GSIs and hyperscalers.I typically help with:• Defining joint architectures and offerings that embed IBM Software platforms as well as Hardware & Compute platforms into GSI-led solutions.• Shaping mainframe modernisation and hybrid cloud journeys that balance risk, cost and innovation.• Using FinOps, ILMT and software asset insights as value-led entry points, not just compliance tools.• Translating between C-level business outcomes and the technical realities of complex, regulated environments.Alongside my role at IBM, I’m studying for an MSc in Innovation, Leadership & Management at the University of York, deepening my toolkit around organisational change, ecosystem strategy and entrepreneurial leadership.I’m particularly interested in work where ecosystem strategy, deep engineering and real-world constraints all collide – whether that’s in hybrid cloud and AI, mainframe modernisation, or safety-critical and high-integrity systems.
