I lead and support various workforce development, technical assistance, and technology deployment programs at National Laboratory of the Rockies (formerly National Renewable Energy Laboratory). My current projects include the BuildingsNEXT (formerly Solar Decathlon) collegiate competition, Communities Local Energy Action Program (Communities LEAP), and Tribal Strategic Energy Planning. I bring a background in community development and data analytics to these projects. BuildingsNEXT:I am the Project Lead for the BuildingsNEXT Student Design Competition, an annual collegiate competition where student teams create high-performance designs for residential and commercial buildings. I lead a team of staff that develops technical education and resources, and convenes over participating students and dozens of industry sponsors and expert evaluators to prepare students with career-ready knowledge and skills in high-performance buildings.Communities LEAP:I lead the delivery of technical assistance and analysis to communities, focusing on topics including renewable energy integration, microgrids, and energy resilience, with the goal of equipping community stakeholders with actionable information to implement realistic energy solutions. Tribal Strategic Energy Planning:As part of the Tribal Strategic Energy Planning team, I work with tribes to design their energy vision and goals, create energy baselines by analyzing energy consumption and utility rates, and identify opportunities for reliable, affordable energy.
