ABOUT TAUAN SALGADO

Tauan Salgado just finished his first season as an assistant coach with the Lindsey Wilson men\'s soccer program in 2019.In his first year with the program, Salgado helped the Blue Raiders to a 16-4-1 record and to the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship. He helped coach three NAIA All-American’s as well as one NAIA All-American honorable mention, six all conference selections including five first team selections and three NAIA All-Tournament selections.Salgado, a former Blue Raider, returns to Lindsey Wilson after previously serving as the Head Coach for the Lakeland Tropics U-16 and U-13 boys in Lakeland, Florida. During the 2018-19 season, he led both teams to the Great Central Florida Youth Soccer League Championship. Before joining the coaching ranks, Salgado had a successful 10-year soccer career in both Brazil and the United States.Before moving to America in 2014, Salgado spent 6 years with the academy and pro side of Brazil’s professional club Associacao Atletica Portuguesa.The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, native started his collegiate career at the University of Texas at Brownsville, where he helped lead the team to the NAIA National Championship game with a perfect record of 24-0.Salgado transferred to Lindsey Wilson for his sophomore season. He was second on the team in goals scored with eight and second on the team in assists provided with five. He played in another NAIA National Tournament, falling to Indiana Wesleyan in the Opening Round.He continued his success on the field at Southeastern University, Florida, where he garnered Sun Conference Player of the Week honors and was the team’s top scorer on his two last seasons of eligibility.Salgado earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Southeastern University.
