As Group Chief Operating Officer at Standard Chartered, I am responsible for the Bank’s corporate strategy, group-wide transformation and our Corporate Functions. Prior to taking on this role in 2026, I was the Bank’s Chief Strategy & Talent Officer and previously served as the Chief Human Resources Officer. Before joining Standard Chartered in 2017, I built my career in banking across multiple markets, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, India, and London I am currently also a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Sainsbury’s PLC and a member of their Nomination and Remuneration Committees. In addition, I serve on the Board of Mindbeat, an AI-powered coaching platform, and am a member of the Asia House Board of Trustees. I have previously served as an Associate Non-Executive Director on the Board of NHS England, advising the NHS on their workforce transformation agenda, as well as a Board member of the UK Financial Services Skills Commission and Vault22, an integrated digital wealth, health, and lifestyle solutions start-up In my first book ‘The Skills-Powered Organization: The Journey to the Next Generation Enterprise’, published by the MIT Press in 2024, my co-author and I share a practical approach to designing and activating the skills-powered organization that is pivotal for navigating the “next” of work.
