Design and lead end-to-end, mixed-method studies to identify unmet user needs and inform the human-centered design process. Employ methods such as interviews, ethnographic fieldwork, surveys, focus groups, and usability tests to conduct user research at all stages of product development, from generative research to inform early ideation to concept and usability testing for product validation and MVP launch.Conduct ad-hoc research for a large array of teams across the bank, adapting to different departments, stakeholders, and project requirements on a regular basis. Highly familiar with operating in ambiguous research environments and adapting to changing objectives. Apply a wide range of theoretical perspectives to analyze, synthesize, and translate data into compelling insights that inform strategy and influence stakeholders across the business. Generate outputs such as slide decks, one-pagers, personas, journey maps, presentations, and workshops to communicate insights effectively, adapting to different audiences. Organize and run internal workshops on anthropological methods and data analysis, including ethnographic fieldwork and discourse analysis.

ABOUT TALIA VOGT
I’m the resident digital anthropologist with the Research Science Group of TD’s Human-Centered Design Practice, focusing on emerging technologies and their impact on behaviour, relationships, and social life. I conduct mixed-methods user-centered research to support product and experience development, specializing in social media research—in particular digital ethnography and critical discourse analysis.I’m an anthropologist by training, and in September 2022 completed my Master of Arts in Sociocultural Anthropology at the University of Toronto specializing in social media, fascism, and white supremacy. My final research investigated the online mobilization of the \"Freedom Convoy\" in Canada in the spring of 2022, arguing that the convoy\'s formation was both affectively and discursively structured by settler colonialism. My studies built on an undergraduate degree in history and sociocultural anthropology with a minor in semiotics, which I completed in June 2021 as a University of Toronto National Scholar. During my bachelor\'s, my work focused on the history of colonialism in the Americas and the anthropology of inequality, particularly white supremacy and patriarchy.I also have experience in the realm of partnerships and outreach, having served as the North American Partnerships Director for Girls Across the Grid for over a year. I oversaw partnerships and activations across Canada and the United States with Andretti Autosport, Aston Martin Formula One Team and Racing Pride for both Indycar and Formula One. In my personal time, I am also an author. I’ve completed one fiction manuscript to date—a science fiction novel exploring a speculative future of the climate crisis—and am nearing completion on my second manuscript—a high fantasy work exploring how magic entwines with women\'s politics and agency in a profoundly patriarchal society. Drawing upon the ethnographic imagination, my works seek to infuse fiction with academia, taking inspiration from the histories I studied and imbuing my stories with anthropological theories to make critiques of systems of power.
