ABOUT TAJNUR CHOWDHURY
I love problem-solving and inventing simple and efficient solutions for process gaps. My degree in Engineering from University of New South Wales helped me develop a knack for critical thinking, while my job experiences taught me how to think strategically, make decisive moves, and evaluate outcomes. My journey in the profession started at a small tech company, Widget Brain (later acquired by Quinyx) where I was in charge of business consultancy. My primary role was to meet with C-level executives and understand their business processes, and business barriers and bottlenecks and explore options of eliminating bottlenecks through Widget Brain’s data driven software for scheduling, capacity planning and much more. After moving to Canada, I joined a mid – size manufacturing company as a production scheduler, and quickly learnt the ropes of operation planning, labor management and scheduling. At ScreenCo, I was introduced to lean methodology and six sigma. Within a year, I devised and implemented a process that improved OTIF %(On Time In Full) of deliverables by 7% and we were able to meet our 90% OTIF threshold. This experience ignited my passion for operations, leading me to join the world of Amazon where I could make a larger impact. At Amazon, I managed multiple Inbound processes and team of up to 80 employees, and streamlined the production process that increased efficiency by 10% and reduced idle time by 7%. I also implemented cross-training program that increased processing capacity for Inbound. I love deep diving metrics and data points to identify opportunities, and this has helped me become POC for multiple KPIs at Amazon. I was able to help my team reduce Stow SLA DPMO by 40%; increase damage sellable yield by 16% accounting for $284k in cost saving for the site. I am currently working with senior leadership to increase inbound processing capacity by 13%. When I\'m not immersed in improving operations, you\'ll find me volunteering at the local food bank or planning my next hiking adventure. I believe in maintaining a balanced life and these activities help me stay grounded and refreshed, ultimately making me a better leader at work. Feel free to reach out to me for anything related to operations management, process improvements, or a casual conversation about sports! I\'m always open to new challenges and opportunities. Skills: Process Optimization, Lean Management, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Budgeting, Team Management, Data Analysis
