ABOUT SUZANNE CUPID

I’m a former crime reporter turned scriptwriter, with more than twenty years covering courts and major cases across the North West and at the Old Bailey. I worked at scenes alongside detectives, filing copy, photos and video in real time, and spent years speaking to victims, families, police officers and offenders.That experience shapes the stories I tell. I’m interested in what happens before a case reaches court and long after it ends, because for victims and families the impact does not stop with the verdict. That lasting fallout is something I explore from different angles in my work.I write character-led drama, thrillers and dark comedy with natural dialogue, emotional truth and a strong sense of place. Some of my work draws on real cases and real people, always handled with care and a focus on the human story behind the headlines.I have an MA in Scriptwriting with Distinction and won the University of Lancashire Matt Greenhalgh Award for Best Script 2025 for Relentless.
