ABOUT SUSAN M. PATTAY
I am an ASHA accredited Speech-Language Pathologist holding NJ licensure- with special interests in dysphagia/swallowing disorders and voice disorders. I have VFSS/MBSS experience, FEES competency, MBSImP training and hold VitalStim Plus, MDTP, Myofascial Release, Kinesiotaping and Speak OUT Certifications. Current settings include academia and acute care (ICU/NICU). I also have experience with: ENT and outpatient clinic, inpatient with advanced tracheostomy & ventilator experience; subacute rehabilitation; home health care; pediatric and early intervention dysphagia/feeding cases; and six years of service in a school-based setting. Professional activities include mentorship with students and clinical fellow supervision in the acute care and rehab settings, as well as active membership with ASHA SIGs #3 and #13, NJSHA (including membership on the Health Care Committee for Speech-Language Pathology Practices in the State of New Jersey, in addition to a Dysphagia Subcommittee), Dysphagia Research Society and National Foundation of Swallowing Disorders. In October 2018, I passed the examination for Board Certification in Swallowing/Swallowing Disorders, or BCS-S. In December 2023, I completed my doctoral degree at Vanderbilt University.
