Nautilus team builds intelligent solutions that offer a consumer-grade user experience and leverage data science to optimize the performance of Amazon’s workforce of over a million employees. Our engineering team’s scope includes, but is not limited to, user experience design, microservice development, micro frontend development, big data engineering, and machine learning.Responsibilities include: • Architecting and developing scalable software solutions using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, etc.). • Leading the design and technical discussions for complex software solutions, both within the team and across other Amazon teams. • Driving best practices in software development, including clean code, test-driven development (TDD), and efficient CI/CD pipelines. • Performing Code Reviews and Design Document Reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and UX designers, to deliver high-quality solutions. • Optimizing application performance, ensuring reliability, and improving system scalability. • Enhancing system observability, monitoring, and logging to proactively identify and resolve issues. • Owning and managing technical debt, making trade-offs between long-term and short-term engineering goals. • Participating in on-call rotations, handling critical incidents, and improving system resilience. • Advocating for security best practices, ensuring compliance with Amazon’s security standards and data privacy policies. • Contributing to team documentation, knowledge sharing, and onboarding new team members.As a Senior Engineer, I play a key role in shaping the technical vision of Nautilus, improving system reliability, and mentoring other engineers to raise the technical bar.
