ABOUT SUMEET BHUTADA
I have spent most of my career trying to answer one simple question. How does marketing actually drive growth, not just activity? Over the last 20+ years, across media, advertising, and now education, I have worked on building brands, but more importantly, building systems that convert that brand into revenue. At Silver Oaks, this came together well. We scaled from about 2,500 to over 6,500 students while expanding to multiple campuses. A big part of that was not just campaigns, but putting a structure in places such as CRM, demand generation, and a more thought through admissions experience. The other piece was clarity on what the brand stood for. “Character Before Competence” was always there in spirit, but we made it sharper and more usable as a marketing and admissions anchor. Right now at CHIREC, the work is more foundational; getting the team, structure, and execution rhythm in place so that marketing can consistently support growth. Earlier in my career, I have worked across Times of India, Zee, Dainik Bhaskar, and also ran my own consultancy. That phase gave me a solid grounding in how different businesses use marketing and where it breaks. I don’t think marketing has a campaign problem. It has a structure problem. Most places do a lot, but very little compounds. That’s been the area I’ve been most interested in working on, Marketing as a compounding business asset.
