ABOUT SULIMAN EL-AMIN
I currently serve as a chief of psychiatry with UMass Memorial Health in Central Massachusetts. I completed my residency in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. My research interests include health disparities in mental health, medical humanities, and diversity in medicine. Prior to attending medical school at Georgetown University, I earned bachelors and masters degrees in biology from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Preceding my medical career, I worked with US Customs as an agricultural specialist and with USDA as a plant protection quarantine technician.
