ABOUT SUGANDHA GUPTA
As a passionate youth advocate, I am working on the intersection of gender equality, adolescent mental health, and technology for social impact. I am driven by learning through action—whether that is shaping policy conversations at the United Nations or building and experimenting with technology through hands-on innovation.I have represented adolescent voices at global platforms, including delivering a Video Intervention at the 60th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (Geneva, where I addressed UN Member States on the urgent need to invest in girls’ mental health and safe spaces. My work closely aligns with UN Women and the Working Group on Girls (WGG). I have served as a Girls’ Representative at the UN Women Civil Society Townhall, presenting global adolescent girls’ priorities to senior UN leadership, and as an Organising Committee Member and Speaker at the UN Women Virtual Youth Forum (CSW68), collaborating with youth across countries including Afghanistan, Kenya, Iran, and Lebanon. My advocacy has also involved diplomatic engagement through mission visits with the UK Ambassador to the United Nations, Global Affairs Canada, and consultations for the UN Summit of the Future.Alongside advocacy, I am deeply interested in robotics, hardware innovation, and hackathons as learning spaces. I actively participate in hackathons to explore real-world problem solving, robotics systems, and interdisciplinary teamwork.I am the Co-Founder of EmpowerHer, a youth-led initiative addressing issues faced by girls globally, and have led and mentored large-scale community projects through the Social Innovation Lab, focusing on sustainable menstruation, nutrition, and food security.I believe young people are not just future leaders but present-day problem solvers. By combining advocacy, technology, and continuous learning, I aim to build systems that are equitable, innovative, and youth-driven.Learning. Building. Advocating. That’s how change begins
