ABOUT STUART HODGSON

I have spent 20 years working with SME and corporate banking clients across the North of England as a Relationship Manager and Sales and Marketing Director. I have a track record of delivering year-on-year growth in my client portfolio and I have managed significant teams, also delivering strategic projects and process enhancements. I possess a breadth of knowledge across commercial banking as well as broad geographical and sectoral experience.I have been working with Lloyds Bank since 2016, where I manage a portfolio of 400 clients across a range of sectors. I have overseen annual growth in client numbers, lending and deposits and have successfully managed accounts under stress during the challenges of the Covid pandemic.Previously, I was a Local Business Manager for Barclays Bank from 2009 to 2016, where I consistently raised customer numbers, the size of the debt book and deposits annually. I am particularly proud of the work I did to retain relationships at risk of moving to competitor institutions, and I learnt a lot about the value of proactive planning and strategic thinking during this period.Throughout my career, I have always tried to deliver excellence and, alongside my daily responsibilities, I have continued to develop my education, taking a Sustainability Essentials course in 2021 and completing a Manufacturing Awareness Programme in 2018. These have enhanced my technical skills and demonstrate how I adapt and rapidly learn new capabilities which I see as a key strength and value-add.
