ABOUT STEPHANIE THOLAND
After 15 years of working in non-profits affecting positive social change and health behaviors around the world, I am pivoting to a new field and plan to become a Psychotherapist. I remain dedicated to helping others thrive in their lives. I now feel compelled to direct my energy to supporting positive changes and impacts on the domestic and individual level, especially related to relationships, personal growth, transforming patriarchal masculinities, and family dynamics. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology program at Yorkville University and loving it.I thrive on big-picture thinking and strategic innovation, always seeking opportunities to make a meaningful difference. As part of my Gender Studies in 2024, I developed the Men in Media test (MIM): a media critique tool for examining how harmful, healthful, and transitioning masculinities are portrayed in entertainment media. You can learn more about the test via the videos posted here on LinkedIn.
